- A smoky hint: 4 streaky bacon rashers, meticulously chopped
- 2 medium onions, finely diced
- A veggie trio: 2 carrots, 2 celery sticks & 2 garlic cloves, all finely chopped
- Fragrant rosemary from 2-3 sprigs, leaves finely chopped
- 500g of quality beef mince
For the Bolognese Symphony
- Dual cans: 2 x 400g of plum tomatoes
- Basil: a small bundle, majority finely chopped and a few reserved for a fresh garnish
- A whisper of 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 authentic fresh bay leaves
- 2 tbsp of rich tomato purée
- A beefy cube: 1 beef stock
- A kick (if you dare): 1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
- A splash of 125ml red wine
- 6 vibrant cherry tomatoes, halved
For the Final Touch
- 75g of parmesan, finely grated and some reserved for sprinkling
- 400g of classic spaghetti
- Optional: crusty bread to mop up the delightful sauce
